Meet Raphaël and his role as head of project development at Hectare
At Hectaar, we take pride in our dedicated team, who work with full energy every day to bring our new construction projects to life. Today, we shine the spotlight on our colleague Raphaël, who has been working passionately and expertly as the head of the project development department for three years. Get to know Raphaël and discover more about his contribution within Hectaar.
Could you please introduce yourself?
"I'm Raphaël, 29 years old, from the rural area of Brakel. After my studies in law and notarial practice at KU Leuven, I began my career as a notarial lawyer. I soon discovered that this wasn't my calling, so I went searching for a new challenge. With a growing interest in real estate and architecture, I quickly came up with the idea of doing something in real estate development."
What is your role within Hectaar and how long have you been active?
"I am the head of the project development department and have been working at Hectaar for 3 years now. What makes my job so fascinating is the variety of tasks and the fact that no two days are the same. My tasks include evaluating purchase files, drafting and reviewing contracts, coordinating development and permit processes for new projects, and much more. Additionally, I greatly appreciate the contact with my colleagues. I regularly work with team members from land acquisition, project management, and sales."
How did you end up at Hectaar?
"I got in touch with Hectaar through an intermediary, and after the first conversation, I felt the connection and the decision was made quickly."
What accomplishments are you particularly proud of?
"I am especially proud of our project in Knokke-Heist, called 'Sluiskapelle'. It's a residential project that respects the typical local architecture and is also doing very well in the market."
How does Hectaar work on promoting a positive team culture?
"Regular team activities are organized, such as team-building events before the start of summer and winter vacations. Recently, we've also started going spinning with colleagues monthly."
What advice would you give to new colleagues at Hectaar?
"I like to quote my colleague Miguel's motto: 'keep going'. Additionally, it's important to remain eager to learn and continuously develop yourself."
What are you most looking forward to in your future at Hectaar?
"I'm looking forward to the many beautiful projects still in the 'pipeline'."
What is your favorite Hectaar project from the current offerings?
"That's a tough choice, but if I have to choose one project, I'd go for Kortemark (Zarren), Koordhoekstraat. It's a project with four houses built at a flood-safe level along the Zarrenbeek, offering a beautiful green and wide view. Lot 4 in this project is a unique plot with the possibility of a 'custom-built' project."
