The H-team: Meet Thibaut

In 2017, Thibaut joined Hectaar. Today, he is responsible for the projects in Wallonia and is also the daily manager of FLUO. With his technical background and love for mechanics, he combines real estate knowledge with a healthy dose of solution-oriented thinking. We let him share his experience, favorite projects, and what motivates him every day.

Could you introduce yourself?

I am 34 years old and trained as a real estate agent. I live in Hooglede with my wife, Julie. In my free time, you can often find me in the garage, tinkering with mopeds or 4x4s. Anything related to mechanics fascinates me. Additionally, I enjoy a cozy dinner with family and friends, and doing some sports always does me good.

What role do you play at Hectaar, and how long have you been active here?

I started in sales and marketing at Hectaar in 2017. A year later, we founded FLUO, where I still oversee daily operations. With FLUO, we assist both investors and individuals with renting, selling, and managing their properties. Meanwhile, my role at Hectaar has evolved further, and I am responsible for purchasing, developing, and selling projects in Wallonia.

How did you end up at Hectaar?

I got to know Hectaar during my student days, around 2009. After several years of experience as an agent, I wanted to expand my knowledge, and a vacancy opened up in the sales department by chance. The connection was instant. After a few good conversations, I started, and to this day, I go to the office every day with joy and a smile.

What accomplishments are you particularly proud of and why?

I'll never forget my very first project in Ichtegem. I organized an information session in a local café, where only one person showed up. However, that one visitor was a success: he bought the first two houses, which are still rented out through FLUO today. It's a beautiful memory and a perfect example of the added value FLUO offers its investors.

The ‘Tille’ project in Brugge is another one I am particularly proud of. It was one of the larger projects I followed up on during the pandemic. The collaboration with Belfius Immo went very smoothly, and thanks to the strong architecture by B2Ai and the thoughtful design with lots of greenery, the end result is truly something to be proud of.

How does Hectaar work to promote a positive team culture?

Activities with colleagues are organized regularly. This often happens spontaneously, on the team's own initiative. This creates a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. The teambuilding activities are also events everyone looks forward to. A good atmosphere fosters strong team spirit, and you can feel that in the collaboration. Colleagues are ready to help each other where needed. I find that mutual involvement incredibly important.

What advice would you give to new colleagues who have just started at Hectaar?

Dare to ask. At Hectaar, we work well together. Everyone is there to help you, so take advantage of that. Be curious, listen to others’ experiences, and show commitment. The results will follow naturally.

What are you most looking forward to in your future at Hectaar?

I am particularly curious about how Hectaar will continue to grow in the coming years, both geographically and digitally. This evolution offers many opportunities, and it's exciting to be a part of it.

What is your favorite Hectaar project currently for sale?

That's undoubtedly Estaimbourg, our very first project in Wallonia, which is now in full construction. It’s a milestone and a clear testament to our rapid geographical expansion in recent years.

What is your Hectaar Highlight

The move to our new office stands out to me. It’s the result of hard work and solid growth. This new office marks a new chapter for Hectaar. It’s a place that’s not only functional but also reflects our ambitions. The fact that all other office spaces have since also been rented out is the cherry on top.
