The H-team: Meet Arne
From site follow-up to completion, Arne ensures a smooth execution of each project
Meet Arne, project manager at Hectaar and one of the driving forces behind our construction projects
in Flemish Brabant and Antwerp. Since 2023, he has been working every day to lead our sites smoothly and manage contractors. The combination of responsibility, variety, and challenges energizes him anew every day.
With his degree in Civil Engineering, Arne found the ideal place at Hectaar to continue
developing. He explains how he ended up at Hectaar, what he is most proud of, and why he looks forward to the future of our growing team with great enthusiasm.
Could you introduce yourself
?
I'm Arne, 24 years old, and I live with my girlfriend in Merchtem. During the final
phase of my Civil Engineering studies, I had the chance to intern. I quickly discovered which direction I wanted to go. I was looking for a challenging job with a lot of responsibility and thus ended up at Hectaar. In my spare time, I like to exercise and enjoy cozy dinners or drinks with friends and family.
What role do you play at Hectaar and how long have you been active here?

In 2023, I started as a project manager at Hectaar. No two days are the same. My tasks vary from
managing contractors on the site to handovers with clients and processing the related administration. That variety makes my job so interesting. As co-responsible for the execution of projects in Flemish Brabant and Antwerp, I face new challenges daily and keep learning constantly.
How did
you end up at Hectaar?
After my studies, I wanted to work as a project coordinator in
residential construction. One day I was contacted by a recruiter who told me about an open position at Hectaar. I immediately recognized myself in the profile they were looking for and felt that the position would suit me perfectly. After the first interviews, there was an immediate connection. The rest is history.
What achievements are you particularly proud of and why?
I am
from the region where I work. Yet, I discover almost daily new places I had never been before. When I started at Hectaar, the office in Asse was still relatively new and our network of contractors was still in development. Meanwhile, we have grown further and exchanged our office in Asse for a larger location in Ternat. It was an interesting challenge to actively seek strong partners and build sustainable collaborations. That process remains one of the most enjoyable aspects of my job today.
>In what ways does Hectaar work to promote a positive team culture?
A colleague from our
Ternat office launched the initiative 'Our Simple Friday' a while ago. Once a month, we make time for a fun activity with colleagues. This can range from having a drink together or enjoying a tasty snack to a sporty challenge. Everyone can bring ideas, resulting in original and surprising activities on the program each time.
What advice would you give to new colleagues who have just started
at Hectaar?
Give it your all. At Hectaar, hard work is done, but you also receive a lot
of trust and responsibility in return. Seize the opportunities you get, dare to take the initiative, and keep challenging yourself. This way, you'll get the most out of your job and yourself.
strong>What are you most looking forward to in your future at Hectaar?
There are a lot
of exciting projects planned, including some larger developments that I am really looking forward to. I can't reveal too much about them for now.
What is your favorite Hectaar project currently
for sale?
That's not an easy choice, as each project has its own charm. If I have to
pick one, I'd choose our development in Meise. I grew up in Meise myself, and my family knows the project's location well. That makes this project somewhat special.
What is your Hectaar Highlight
?
I look forward with great enthusiasm to what the coming months will bring. We started
in Asse with a small team, but we have grown significantly since then. In the recent period, we have welcomed many new colleagues and moved to a larger workplace in Ternat. It's particularly motivating to witness that growth up close and to see our team continue to expand.
